James Foy

Founder and Chairman

After graduating from Southern Methodist University’s School of Engineering, Jim went to work at Alcoa’s Layfette Works.  He later moved to Texas Aluminum as Corporate Director of Industrial Engineering.

In 1975 he became President of Texas Extrusion Corporation where he developed plant-floor software to run on early personal computers. Realizing the importance of this technology, he founded Foy Inc in 1978 to make extrusion-specific software available to the world-wide extrusion industry.

Jim is a long-time member of the Aluminum Extruders Council where he was twice elected as a director, chosen as Volunteer of the Year, and served on various committees.

Now in semi-retirement, Jim spends his time on numerous civic and church activities, traveling with his wife Linda, and enjoying his four children and 15 grandchildren.

John Stenger

President

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, John graduated from Georgia Tech in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Information and Computer Science. While working as a summer intern for an extruder, he met Jim Foy who was then installing EPICS at that plant. John joined Foy Inc in 1986 as a programmer/analyst, coding side-by-side with Jim as EPICS rapidly expanded across the globe. In 1994, John became chief software and database architect as development began on EPICS 6, the first Windows and SQL-based version of EPICS. While continuing in this role, John has also succeeded Jim Foy as President of Foy Inc in 2022. An active member of the AEC, he has written and presented technical papers at ET’16 and ET’22.

John and his wife Christina have four children (including Stephan) who live nearby. In his spare time, John is an amateur musician, playing guitar and bass and singing in church and community ensembles

Scott Wilson

Vice President

Scott is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan College (BA 1986) and Baylor University (MA 1991). With professional experience as an educator, he came to Foy Inc in 1998 to develop training programs for EPICS users. As the EPICS community has grown over the years, Scott has trained many hundreds of extruders in the use of EPICS and Crystal Reports. Specializing in data analysis, Scott assists customers in developing reports with Crystal Reports and with other emerging data analytics technologies.

In 2022, Scott was named Vice President of Foy Inc succeeding John Stenger. As an active member of the AEC, he serves on the Surveys and Reports committee. Scott presented a technical paper at ET’22.

Scott enjoys singing, astronomy, golf, and is actively involved in his church. He and his wife Pam have three children and two grandchildren living in the local area.

Stacy Foley

Secretary/Treasurer

Stacy is a life-long resident of Farmersville, Texas.  After attending East Texas State University, she entered the insurance business with her father.  In 1996, she joined Foy Inc as Office Manager.  She now holds the title of Corporate Secretary/Treasurer with Foy Inc.  In addition to managing the financial side of the business, she is responsible for site selection and logistics for the annual EPICS User Conference.

Stacy loves to travel and spend her off-time with her four grandchildren.

Mariah Zagorsky

Support Specialist

Mariah joined the Foy Inc team in 2015 after working for more than seventeen years in aluminum extrusion plants. Her years of experience in production control allowed her the unique opportunity to work with every department and learn their processes, which later became an asset as a long-time EPICS user. Her ability to patiently help users understand aluminum extrusion processes and procedures has grown to assisting users around the world as they navigate the EPICS software. Her knowledge and customer experience have become an integral part of the development of EPICS as it continues to be enhanced based on the needs of the aluminum extrusion industry.

A native of Struthers, Ohio, Mariah received a BSAS from Youngstown State University and currently resides in Texas.  While raising her two children has been her greatest accomplishment and given her the most joy, she enjoys traveling and many outdoor activities.

Stephan Stenger

Programmer

Stephan is a Texas native who has been fascinated with software since elementary school. He started working at Foy Inc as an intern in 2011 while attending the University of Texas at Dallas, becoming a full-time software developer after earning his master’s degree in 2015.

Stephan’s primary role is developing new features for EPICS and improving existing ones to better meet customer expectations. He is also a continuing student of new technologies, always looking for ways to integrate new software innovations into EPICS.

Outside of work, Stephan enjoys playing board games and video games with friends, reading books, and collecting as much random trivia as possible about a vast array of topics.
